My name is Doug Massey.  I have been restoring and operating Vintage radios for most of my life.  I am originally from Atlanta Ga and currently reside just outside of Johnston SC. on our farm with my wife Tami and three children, Maggie, Matthew, and Claire.  I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Physics from Georgia State University in Atlanta.  I currently teach Electrical Engineering at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC.  I have taught college Physics and Electrical Engineering for most of my working career.

Radio has been an integral part of my life.  I was introduced to Radio as a young kid by my father, Ray Massey, WA4VGA.  I was fortunate to have been raised by parents who valued education, especially in the sciences and Engineering.  I was  in the midst of electronics laboratories, machine and wood shops right in the basement of our home growing up!!!  To this day, we still find ourselves in the shop working on something.  The greatest satisfaction about restoration of these old radios(OR REALLY JUST BEING IN THE SHOP) is that I always learn something new with each radio restored.  It is this continued or lifelong learning which provides the ambition to work on/restore an old radio.  It never gets boring!!!!

Our Business

 Massey Radio Labs LLC. was founded by Doug Massey to promote and highlight the great satisfaction that is gained from working on or restoring radio equipment.  It is not my primary job, but one I do in my spare time which I really enjoy an take very seriously. I do not do hired restorations or service work anymore.  My schedule is extremely busy and I just dont have the time to meet the demands of timetables when doing this sort of business.   I have a inventory of radios that I restore in my own time.  When the units are complete, they are listed for sale on our website.  

I spend many hours working on each radio restored.   If a radio is purchased from me, it is guaranteed to be something you will enjoy or your money back.  Please enjoy this website and the information contained in it and please feel free to drop me a note via email and let me know your thoughts.  I will try to update the site often with pictures, videos, and restoration notes, etc. as time allows.  If you would like to inquire about purchasing a radio found in the for sale tab on this website, or general questions,  please dont hesitate to write.
